vesper diem. today your one! how can that be? possibly the fastest year of my life.
your dada and i were a duo just one year ago and life was very very good. but we made a choice - and we knew that by choosing you there would be a different dimension added to our life. we knew that as a trio . . . we would learn more. we would see more. we would feel more. we would be more. we would love more.
thanks for being perfectly you and for being so perfect for us. we feel incredibly lucky that we get to spend every day with you. thanks for all that your teaching us. we are the lucky ones. still.
how do we love you? let me count the ways:
1. you love to sleep in between us with one hand on each of us. 2. your starting to walk...and it's amazing to see you moving on your feet. 3. your giggles + laugh is infectious. 4. you smile all the time. 5. you love a good game of chase and peek-a-boo 6. you light up when other kids are around. 7. you thrive on a good rough-house tickle + wrestle. 8. you can charm a whole airplane full of passengers with your smiles. 9. you wake up happy and chatty. 10. your stubborn and know what you want. 11. you like baths and showers....with company. 12. your starting to like swimming. 13. you l-o-v-e dogs. 14. you can say woof and moo 15. you can say hi and boo 16. you can wave bye-bye and give a high five. 17. point to your nose, tongue, mouth 18. you love to drink water out of a cup 19. carrots, apples, raspberries and crackers are your top ranked food items at the moment 20. you love to be read books...you pick them, then you curl up on our lap and listen to a whole pile of them. 21. your hair is staring to be curly and crazy and we like it that way. 22. you have 6.5 teeth. 23. you can crawl up and down the stairs on your own. 24. you starting sometimes get a little dance move when you hear any music. 25. you love love love to be outside. 26. you do not like your car seat - but your starting to come around - sometimes. 27. you love to watch anything we're doing...vacuuming, cooking, fire making. 28. you know us + love us so beautifully. 29. your kisses and hugs are indescribably awesome. 30. you have a sweet shyness about you that compliments your outgoing smiles.

we woke up to a PILE of snow...and more coming down. so decided to embrace it. our morning walk to the coffee shop was enhanced by slipping, slidding, falling, drifts up to our knees, and an extra thankfulness when we walked into that cozy collective cofee joint! i think vesper enjoyed it as much (or more) than we did! i think she could have just sat in the snow all day and been super happy. what a trooper!

love spontaneous friday afternoon visits and play dates. someday, i have a feeling, vesper might play a little less hard to get if river tries to kiss + hug her.

this little girl of ours has turned into such a fun fun little person. we love to watch her play. we love to hear her laugh. we love to see her mischeviousness coming out in little looks and actions. we....love her.
