i love this. 2 new dads with their babies. totally absorbed. to hear your husband talking to his friend who's just also had a new baby...and they aren't talking the usual talk...they're talking about the labour process, about how the night was, how many poops, what colour, how good it feels to hold their baby. just as naturally as a mom turns into a mom - a dad turns into a dad. it's been one of my favorite things to witness. i couldn't do it without him. he truly is the other half.

we are in our house! it's been gradually feeling like home x 2 weeks now. boxes are very slowly getting unpacked. it's an interesting process when you've forgotten what at least 1/2 of them hold. interesting to find yourself living in a space twice as big as your previous spaces, but realizing that you don't need or really have a place you want to store some of that stuff...so back in the boxes it goes. i think i hear a garage sale calling our name this summer. regardless...we are enjoying naps on the couch in front of a crackling fires, using our own cookware, baths and showers in spaces that feel good, sleeping in our own bed, and slowly figuring out how we want this house to unfold into our home. i'll take some updated pictures soon.
and baby is getting closer to making her appearance (yes, her, i don't know if I've said that on here before - but we've known for awhile). 3 weeks left - plus or minus. our friends who we've been sharing this journey with - bradley birthing classes every thursday, swimming with bellies, dinners talking about baby stuff - had their baby this week, 2 weeks early, and that has made us so excited for our baby to join us...and meet her little friend Tristan.
that's life in our shoes lately. the days are good. we are making the most of these familiar type of days before they slip into some very different days.
